Arsenal transfer update

Arsenal have now decided on their first signing for the summer transfer window. Last summer, the Gunners acted smart in the last summer transfer window.

Now, they want to repeat that next summer. They are already leading the Premier League table. Also, they will play against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League last 16.

Apart from that, they will play against Chelsea in the FA Cup quarterfinal. Furthermore, they also have the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.

So, Arsenal are truly in the hunt for a quadruple, something no English club has ever won. Now, the Gunners have not won a major trophy since 2020.

Thus, winning the Carabao Cup could break the deadlock of winning trophies for Mikel Arteta. But Andrea Berta and Arteta are already planning for next summer.

Now, last summer, they signed Piero Hincapie on loan from Bayer Leverkusen. But according to Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners will make this move permanent in June.

So, Hincapie will be the first signing of the Gunners next summer. The current Premier League leaders will pay €52 million to the German club, and the deal will also include a 10% sell-on clause.

This is something they did while signing David Raya from Brentford. The reason they didn’t sign Piero Hincapie permanently last summer was the Financial Fair Play reasons.

So, it looks like the Gunners will be signing Piero Hincapie as their first summer signing for 2026.
