Barcelona make smart move to secure Marcus Rashford

It is fair to say that the Catalan club has come up with a smart plan to address their financial struggles and also secure Rashford’s signature.

Marcus Rashford

Barcelona want to keep Marcus Rashford next season. They are highly impressed with his performance.

Also, there are reports that the England star has agreed personal terms with the Catalan giants. However, there is one problem for Barcelona.

They are reluctant to pay €30 million according to the buyout clause in Rashford’s loan deal. And, Manchester United are pushing the Catalan club to pay that amount.

So, after Joan Laporta became Barcelona president for another five years, their focus has shifted to securing Rashford. However, they are trying smart ways to address the financial problem.

According to Ben Jacobs (via talkSPORT), Barcelona have asked Manchester United about the possibility of having Marcus Rashford on loan next season as well.

Now, this will be a smart move for the Catalan club if they can pull it off. It will mean the LaLiga champions will not have to pay the €30 million buyout clause.

Moreover, they will have also acquired the services of Marcus Rashford for another year. And, after that, the England international will have one-year left in his United deal.

So, Barcelona will be able to sign Rashford permanently at a much lower price if they wish to do so after seeing his performance.

However, it is unlikely that Manchester United would be ready for a deal like that. Rashford will have interest from other clubs.

But it is fair to say that the Catalan club has come up with a smart plan to address their financial struggles and also secure Rashford for next season.
