Bayern Munich enjoyed a superb 2025-26 campaign under Vincent Kompany.
They wrapped up the Bundesliga title with four matches to spare before completing the domestic double by beating Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal final.
However, Bayern fell to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-finals. The German champions have focused on targeted improvements this summer rather than a major rebuild.
Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown have strengthened the squad, while Tom Bischof and Jonathan Tah have also joined.
Bayern have also trimmed the squad, with several departures helping balance the books.
Meanwhile, pre-season has also gathered momentum. Kompany’s side will now face Aston Villa and RB Leipzig before the new season begins.
One issue Bayern could face before the transfer window closes is growing interest in Michael Olise.
The France international has attracted links with Real Madrid after producing another outstanding season.
According to the Daily Mail, Bayern Munich have identified Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White as one of the leading candidates to replace Olise if he leaves.
The report states Bayern remain relaxed because they do not expect Olise to depart. However, the club have already started assessing alternatives should Real Madrid make a serious move.
Gibbs-White has emerged as a leading option after changing his agency to ROOF, a company with strong links to Bayern.
The report adds that English clubs often prefer selling top players abroad rather than strengthening domestic rivals, which could work in Bayern’s favour.
Nottingham Forest, however, have no intention of selling. The club want to build Oliver Glasner’s project around the England international after handing him a new contract last year.
Gibbs-White also remains settled at the City Ground, although he still hopes to play Champions League football in the future.
Should Olise stay, Bayern Munich are unlikely to pursue a move. If Real Madrid test Bayern’s resolve, however, Gibbs-White could quickly become a leading target.
