Manchester United are now actively searching for a midfielder. After parting ways with Ruben Amorim, they have appointed Michael Carrick as the interim manager.
And, the United legend has started his managerial tenure with a fantastic victory over Manchester City in the derby.
Now, the Red Devils know that if they can add a midfielder, then they will be in serious contention for a place in the Champions League next season.
They are just a point behind Liverpool, who are occupying fourth place in the Premier League table. Also, by next season, United will be looking to reshape their midfield completely.
Bruno Fernandes’ future is in doubt at Manchester United. Also, Casemiro’s contract will end by then, and till now, the Brazilian has not renewed his contract.
Manuel Ugarte will be leaving the club, as United are already contemplating offers for the Uruguayan. Kobbie Mainoo could revive his career under Carrick.
Now, next summer, Manchester United may have many new faces in the midfield. They are already looking at the likes of Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton, and Elliot Anderson.
But these players will only be available in the summer. So, for January, United are looking at Ruben Neves and Joao Gomes. But another player from Borussia Dortmund has now joined the list.
Manchester United are tracking Felix Nmecha from Dortmund. And now, the German club have set their asking price for the midfielder.
According to BILD, Dortmund will ask for €60 million for the Nmecha. And, United are not the only English club tracking the 25-year-old.
Tottenham Hotspur are also showing interest in the German midfielder. So, this deal may not be possible in January for both English clubs.
They will surely keep an eye on Nmecha for the summer window as both clubs will look to strengthen their midfield.
