Bruno Fernandes gives update on Manchester United future

The Portugal international has long been in demand from other clubs.

With two goals and zero assists in seven Premier League games, it perhaps has not been the start that Bruno Fernandes wanted to the season.

It has also not been the season that United fans would have wanted as they were eager for an improvement on their 15th place finish last season.

They currently sit in 10th place after three wins, one draw and three losses so far in the 2024/25 Premier League season.

With a last minute win against Burnley and victory against a 10-man Chelsea, the club could have been even further down the table.

Fernandes has long been a target for many clubs across European football, as well as outside it.

There were reports of a £100 million bid from Saudi side Al-Hilal, which was denied by their owners.

Talk has intensified again over Fernandes’ future, and the club captain has further spoken on his future in Manchester.

Speaking on his future, Fernandes has spoken on the speculation.

“I’m happy here. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have stayed… I like to enjoy the moment.

“Saudi move? That’s an impossible scenario to imagine, because it’s nothing that’s been discussed with me anymore.”

His comments imply a desire to stay at the club. However, should he put in performances similar to what he produced last season, then everyone has a price.

At the age of 31, United may feel they have no choice to sell should another bid from the Saudi Pro League come in.
