In Saudi Arabia, the transfer window is never quiet. Ambition runs high, and top clubs are moving fast again this summer to reinforce their squads with European talent.
One club in particular has been especially busy. Backed by a global icon and driven by a desire to challenge for every major trophy available, this side has already begun making headlines before most clubs even start pre-season.
Negotiations are now heating up for a defensive leader who could become one of the biggest names to join the Saudi Pro League this summer.
According to Santi Aouna, talks have accelerated in recent days between Al-Nassr and the player’s representatives.
The Saudi side are pushing hard to complete the deal and have made contact several times over the past week.
While the club has already built an impressive attack featuring global stars, the focus has now shifted to shoring up the backline, an area that cost them in tight matches last season.
And this time, they are targeting someone with proven experience at the highest level in Europe.
That defender is Kim Min-jae.
The South Korean centre-back joined Bayern Munich with high expectations, but injuries and intense competition for places limited his impact in the Bundesliga.
Now, with Al-Nassr showing strong interest, Kim is said to be keen on the move.
He sees the opportunity not only as a new challenge but also as a chance to play a central role again something he craves after a frustrating year in Germany.
With talks ongoing and Al-Nassr stepping up their efforts, a deal could be agreed soon if both sides continue progressing positively.
For Cristiano Ronaldo’s team, landing Kim Min-jae would be another signal that Saudi clubs mean business in this new era of football power shifts.
