Everton are preparing major defensive changes this summer after a difficult campaign exposed several weaknesses in David Moyes’ squad.
The club especially want reinforcements at full-back after ongoing concerns surrounding the right side of the defence throughout the season.
Nathan Patterson struggled to fully convince, while Moyes repeatedly hinted that Everton needed stronger competition in that position.
Now, the club appear ready to target a former Manchester United defender who suddenly became available following another club’s relegation.
West Ham United’s drop into the Championship is expected to force several key players towards the exit door during the upcoming transfer window.
Financial pressure could also leave the Hammers vulnerable to lower offers than expected. That situation immediately alerted multiple Premier League clubs searching for bargains this summer.
According to The Telegraph, Everton are now showing strong interest in West Ham defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The former Manchester United full-back reportedly emerged as one of Everton’s leading targets to strengthen the defence ahead of next season.
West Ham are expected to value the defender at around £10 million following relegation.
That fee would represent a huge drop compared to the £15 million West Ham paid Manchester United to sign him back in 2024.
Wan-Bissaka rebuilt his reputation strongly in East London after difficult final years at Old Trafford.
The defender made more than 60 appearances for West Ham. He even won the club’s Hammer of the Year award during his first season.
Before West Ham, Wan-Bissaka spent five seasons at Manchester United after joining from Crystal Palace in a £45 million deal.
During his spell at Old Trafford, he won both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup while also reaching the Europa League final.
The 28-year-old now appears likely to attract serious interest during the summer because of his experience and relatively affordable price.
