Fabrizio Romano drops massive update on Manchester United’s midfield targets

Manchester United will have a significant midfield rebuild next summer.

Transfer Update - Manchester United

Fabrizio Romano has dropped a major update regarding the midfield targets of Manchester United. With Casemiro leaving, United’s priority next summer will be to sign at least two midfielders.

Also, with Manuel Ugarte tipped to leave to find more game time, the Red Devils might have to sign additional midfielders as replacements.

That is why they are creating a long list of midfield targets. And, the Italian journalist has given an update on the situation of what’s happening in the transfer market.

First of all, Romano informed that the Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali is very high on the shortlist of Manchester United.

Also, the Italian informed that Tonali would be ready to move to Old Trafford. But certain outlets suggest that securing Champions League football would be the key for the Red Devils.

There are other clubs also monitoring Tonali’s situation, including Arsenal and Manchester United. So, it is fair to say that United need Champions League football to sign Tonali next summer.

Now, Elliot Anderson is another midfielder that the Red Devils rate highly and would like to sign next summer.

However, it seems difficult for the Red Devils to secure the signing of the Nottingham Forest midfielder.

Manchester City are leading the race for the former Newcastle United midfielder, and Anderson is reportedly open to joining City over Manchester United.

Apart from these two, the Red Devils are also tracking the likes of Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba. So, United will have a significant midfield rebuild next summer.
