Careers do not always decline quietly.
Sometimes, they shift.
From one level to another; one league to a completely different environment.
Not always because of ability, but because of timing.
That is where certain moves begin to make sense.
The United States has become that place in recent years, with Antoine Griezmann being the latest of a plethora of footballers, making the move abroad.
A league no longer seen as a final stop, but as a serious project, becoming increasingly attractive to players who have already done it all at the highest level.
Inter Miami set to sign Manchester United star
According to The Athletic, Inter Miami are interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Casemiro, with the Brazilian confirmed to leave the club when his contract situation is resolved this summer.
But it does not stop there.
Because Inter Miami are not the only club involved.
Reports also suggest LA Galaxy are monitoring the same situation, creating a potential battle within Major League Soccer for one of the most decorated midfielders of his generation.
And that changes things.
Because competition raises the stakes.
Casemiro’s situation has been developing for some time.
Now 34, and with uncertainty surrounding his future at Manchester United, an exit at the end of the season is increasingly expected.
And clubs are already positioning themselves.
The appeal is obvious.
Experience at the highest level, with multiple Champions League titles.
A player who understands elite environments and brings immediate authority to any midfield.
But there are complications.
Reports indicate that both interested MLS sides currently face roster limitations, particularly around designated player spots, something that could delay or even complicate any potential deal.
So this is not straightforward.
Not yet.
For now, it remains serious interest.
