Liverpool had so many great managers in their storied history. And, Jurgen Klopp is surely regarded among those amazing managers.

One thing that almost all great managers have in common is the man management. If a manager doesn’t have that skill, then he cannot succeed at the top level.

That is why from Arsene Wenger to Sir Alex Ferguson to Jose Mourinho to Pep Guardiola, all are great at man management. Jurgen Klopp also showed similar traits during his time at Liverpool.

As the manager of the Reds, he had to understand the players he had in his squad. That is why he had to gauge the different personalities in the squad.

Not all players react to the same type of treatment from managers. This is what great managers understand. That is why they treat different players differently.

For example, Sir Alex Ferguson used to treat Cristiano Ronaldo or Eric Catona differently to that of David Beckham or Roy Keane.

The situation is quite similar for Jurgen Klopp as well. During his stint as the Liverpool manager, he had to manage players with different personalities.

Some of them had to be disciplined in a proper way. And, for some, the German manager was a bit lenient to get the best out of them. That is what matters at end.

What makes the best managers different from others is how they bring the best out of their players. And, Jurgen Klopp mastered this art wonderfully.

During his appearance in the Dairy Of A CEO podcast, Steven Bartlett asked whether Klopp has managed players on whom he could have been a bit tougher but decided not to as that would affect their performance. Jurgen Klopp replied:

“Oh yes, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah are 2 big examples.”

Sadio Mane is currently playing for Al-Nassr and Mohamed Salah is still playing for Liverpool. Both played a crucial role in helping Liverpool become a successful team.

Such a treatment for Mane and Salah which made them world-class players show how brilliant Klopp was as the Liverpool boss.
