AC Milan failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.
They finished 8th in the table and as a result, they are on the verge of selling one of their star players.
Bayern Munich are coming off a successful season domestically as they regained their Bundesliga crown.
However, they failed to win the Champions League. With the final being played at the Allianz Arena, Bayern wanted to be one of the finalists at least.
But, Inter Milan had other ideas as they defeated the German champions in the quarter-final.
So, Bayern want to challenge for the Champions League next season and Vincent Kompany has identified AC Milan attacker as the prime target upfront.
The Bavarians will face tough competition to secure the signature of the AC Milan star.
The likes of Arsenal and Barcelona were also monitoring the situation. However, Arsenal are now pursuing other targets and Barcelona have financial issues.
But, English sides Chelsea and Manchester United are also in the race for the AC Milan player.
Chelsea can offer Champions League football. They can also meet the €100 million demand from AC Milan for the player.
Things are not the same for Manchester United. The Red Devils have failed to secure a place in Europe next season.
Also, Ruben Amorim will not have a large purse to spend unless he sells some of his key players.
That is why Chelsea and Bayern are leading the race to sign AC Milan star Rafael Leao according to TEAMtalk.
AC Milan are reluctant to sell the Portuguese star. However, without Champions League football, they will struggle to keep the 25-year-old at the club.
With Bayern Munich and Chelsea offering Champions League football and Manchester United offering a new challenge with a Portuguese manager, it looks like Rafael Leao will be on the move this summer.
