Manchester City make move to stun Arsenal in race to sign England star

Manchester City are ready to intensify their pursuit.

Manchester City are pushing to strengthen their attack this summer as the club prepare for major changes under incoming manager Enzo Maresca.

Bernardo Silva will leave the Etihad Stadium, forcing City to look for fresh attacking reinforcements before the new season begins.

Sporting director Hugo Viana has already overseen several major additions since taking charge of football operations at the club.

Marc Guehi, Antoine Semenyo, Rayan Cherki, and Gianluigi Donnarumma have all arrived as City continue rebuilding a squad capable of reclaiming the Premier League title.

However, the club still want another elite attacking player. According to TEAMtalk, Manchester City are firmly in the race to sign Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers.

Arsenal and Chelsea are also heavily involved in the race, while Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain continue monitoring the situation from abroad.

His performances over the last season have made him one of the most sought-after players in Europe ahead of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea recruitment chief Joe Shields reportedly wants to bring Rogers to Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, Arsenal are showing some serious interest in Rogers.

The report states that City are actively involved in discussions regarding a possible move for the England international.

Rogers spent four years inside Manchester City’s academy system after joining the club in 2019. But he eventually left for Middlesbrough in 2023 in search of regular football.

The 23-year-old reportedly have no reservations about returning to the Etihad Stadium if Manchester City formalise their interest.

Villa sold Jack Grealish to Manchester City for a club-record £100 million in 2021. However, sources reportedly believe Rogers would now command an even higher fee in the current market.

Now, Manchester City are ready to intensify their pursuit of Morgan Rogers. So, the battle for Morthe Villa star is quickly becoming one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer window.
