Manchester United join Chelsea and Crystal Palace in race for French midfielder

United have now turned their attention towards one of the most exciting young players in France.

Manchester United continue to push for midfield reinforcements after a successful second half of last season under Michael Carrick.

The club secured a third-place Premier League finish and now wants to build a squad capable of challenging for major honours again.

United have already agreed terms with Atalanta midfielder Ederson. The Brazilian’s arrival now depends on the final stages of his medical process.

The club also continues to monitor Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos as Carrick searches for more depth in the middle of the pitch.

However, United have now turned their attention towards one of the most exciting young players in France.

According to Fussball Europa, the Red Devils have contacted Alexis Vossah’s representatives and asked to receive updates on his situation throughout the summer window.

The 18-year-old enjoyed a remarkable breakthrough campaign in Ligue 1 and quickly established himself as one of the brightest prospects in French football.

Vossah came through the academy system at Toulouse before making his senior debut against Nice. He went on to make 23 appearances during the season and scored his first professional goal.

Manchester United are not alone in the race. Chelsea have tracked the French youngster for more than a year and attempted to sign him last summer.

Toulouse rejected an opening offer worth around £6.8 million and refused to negotiate further.

Crystal Palace have also entered the battle as they look to strengthen their midfield options under new manager Pierre Sage.

Toulouse now value Vossah at around £21 million and expect interest to increase before the transfer window closes.
