Manchester United are eyeing a move for Carlos Baleba next summer. Last summer, they did make a move for the Cameroonian.
However, they failed to land the midfielder after Brighton and Hove Albion shut the door for a move. Now, the Red Devils are ready to reignite their interest in Baleba.
Yet, the road to landing Baleba next summer will not be easy for Manchester United. INEOS will be very busy next summer as many players could leave the club.
So, they have to replace those players. Signing midfielders is the priority for United without any doubt. They have been monitoring Baleba since last summer.
Their former manager, Ruben Amorim, was adamant about signing Baleba. However, after the failed move, United could not sign a midfielder because they didn’t have time.
Next summer, they have multiple midfielders on their list. Elliot Anderson is also a priority target for the Red Devils. But, as Transfer News Live revealed earlier, the England star wants Manchester City.
Also, if United fail to qualify for the Champions League, it will be very difficult to land the former Newcastle United star. That is why Carlos Baleba is the realistic target for the Red Devils.
Now, they have found out what they will have to pay to sign the 22-year-old. According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United must pay at least £100 million to sign the player.
Previously, Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler admitted that links to United have had an impact on Baleba’s performance this season. He has not been at his best.
However, Brighton want the same transfer fee that they wanted last summer. So, it will be interesting to see whether United agree to pay that amount.
It is worth noting that Bournemouth’s Alex Scott and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton are also on their list of midfield targets.
