Manchester United have made a decision on signing a top Premier League midfielder next summer.

Transfer Update - Manchester United

Manchester United have made a decision on signing a top Premier League midfielder next summer. The Red Devils have made a long list of targets they would like to pursue next summer.

However, it seems they will be scratching the name of a top Premier League midfielder from that list. For the Red Devils, the transfer cost is essential as they need at least two midfielders.

Casemiro has already announced he will be leaving. United may also need to find a replacement for Manuel Ugarte.

The Uruguayan is unhappy at United because of his limited role. That is why he could look to leave the club next summer.

That is why they have to sign at least two midfielders. It means they cannot afford to spend lavishly unless they sell some players.

Also, qualifying for the Champions League will be important for the Red Devils, and they are on course to do so.

Now, they are trying to figure out their potential targets and also weigh the costs they would demand to secure their signings.

And during that course, Manchester United will now have to leave the race for a top Premier League midfielder.

According to The Athletic, the Red Devils have played down the prospect of signing Sandro Tonali next summer. They were also looking at the possibility of signing the Italian last summer.

However, the overall cost of the transfer prevented United from making a move. This summer, they are once again showing interest.

But the cost of signing Tonali is once again making them look elsewhere. Currently, it is believed that the Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson is their top target for next summer.

Also, Manchester United are looking at Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba for a possible move next summer.
