As always seems to be the case, it feels like a big summer for Manchester United.

Despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe crying poverty earlier in the summer, United have already made big moves.

The likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko have joined the club.

Even though several working class people were let go by Sir Jim.

Nevertheless, The Red Devils are not done there, it would appear.

For a little while now, they have been interested in Carlos Baleba of Brighton and Hove Albion.

Well, it appears as if they have made a breakthrough.

According to Cameroonian outlet CFOOT, an agreement has been reached with Brighton.

They report that a fee will be 112 million Euros – which equates to around £96m.

It seems as if they accurately reported Baleba’s transfer to Brighton in 2023, which gives United fans reason to be optimistic.

Although it is an awful lot of money, this would be a good signing for United.

The way Ruben Amorim plays with a 343 set up, it is key that there are legs and energy in the middle of the park.

Which is exactly what Baleba brings to the table. Superb athleticism and intensity.

However, that is not all he brings.

The midfielder is one of the best ball carriers in the league, and has often shown this for Brighton.

He would fit like a glove next to Bruno Fernandes in that midfield. He would give the number eight license to do his thing.

One downside is, like compatriot Mbeumo, Amad Diallo, and Noussair Mazraoui – he will be away at the AFCON this winter.

Still, overall – he would be a great signing, as you would hope for that sum of money.

Let’s see what happens.
