Manchester United have made their position clear on Bruno Fernandes following renewed speculation sparked by the midfielder’s recent interview in Portugal.

The club captain caused a stir after suggesting, during a conversation with Canal 11 as revealed by Transfer News Live, that United were open to letting him join Al-Hilal last summer.

Fernandes also implied the club hierarchy lacked the “courage” to make a decisive call on his future, comments that quickly raised eyebrows among supporters.

Despite the noise, sources close to Old Trafford insist there has been no shift in the club’s stance.

United have no intention of selling Fernandes and continue to view him as central to their plans under Ruben Amorim.

Club insiders point to Fernandes’ own comments in October, when he stated that the board shared Amorim’s desire for him to remain at the club.

According to Manchester Evening News, there is no appetite to part ways with the Portuguese international. Also, United will strengthen their midfield in either January or the summer.

While targets such as Carlos Baleba, Elliot Anderson, and Adam Wharton have been monitored, the focus is on adding quality around Fernandes rather than replacing him.

Casemiro’s future remains unresolved, with his contract expiring at the end of the season, but Fernandes’ situation is far clearer.

He has a deal running until 2027 with an option for an extra year. Fernandes’ record of 103 goals and 93 assists in 307 appearances is fantastic. Manchester United see him as a cornerstone of their rebuild.

For now, Fernandes remains untouchable. The Portuguese continues to shine at Old Trafford. He scored a world-class free-kick against Bournemouth during Monday Night’s Premier League clash.

Manchester United have made their position clear. But Bruno Fernandes’ openness to leaving will bring offers to the table of United, especially from Saudi Arabia.
