Manchester United secured a 2-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday in the Premier League.

However, they were helped by Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez receiving a red card in the early minutes of the match. The result gives United their second win of the season.

After five league games, Ruben Amorim’s side sit 11th in the table with seven points. That puts them just three behind second-placed Arsenal, but the performances so far have raised concerns.

In particular, United’s midfield has come under fire. Amorim’s tactical setup has left the centre of the pitch exposed.

Bruno Fernandes often tasked with defensive responsibilities that don’t suit his game. The lack of midfield control has led the club to explore reinforcements in that area.

According to CaughtOffside, Manchester United are now keeping a close eye on Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga as a potential summer target.

Camavinga, 22, has struggled for game time this season at the Bernabéu. He has made just one appearance in all competitions, coming on as a late substitute against Espanyol.

An ankle injury has kept him out for most of the campaign so far. Even when fit, the Frenchman is not a guaranteed starter at Madrid.

Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde are ahead of him in the pecking order under Xabi Alonso. However, any potential move is unlikely to happen in the January window.

Real Madrid are unlikely to sanction a sale mid-season, and Manchester United are likely to wait until the summer to make their move.

In the meantime, Amorim may have to rely on internal solutions. One option is Kobbie Mainoo, who could be given more minutes in the second half of the season.

While the youngster doesn’t match Camavinga’s physical presence, he is more suited to a defensive midfield role than Bruno Fernandes.

That is why, Manchester United are firmly monitoring Eduardo Camavinga’s situation at Real Madrid.
