Transfer Update - Manchester United

Manchester United head into the summer transfer window with renewed optimism after a dramatic turnaround during the 2025/26 campaign.

The Red Devils finished third in the Premier League with 71 points after climbing twelve places compared to the previous season.

It marked a huge recovery for the club after a difficult first half of the campaign. Ruben Amorim departed as head coach in January following a disappointing winter period.

However, Michael Carrick quickly changed the atmosphere around Old Trafford after taking charge.

United improved significantly during the second half of the season and eventually secured a return to Champions League football for the 2026/27 campaign.

Bruno Fernandes played a major role in that improvement after producing a historic season. The Portuguese midfielder broke the Premier League single-season assist record with 21 assists.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Šeško and Bryan Mbeumo shared the goalscoring responsibility. Both players finished the season with 12 goals in all competitions.

Despite their league success, United still suffered disappointing exits from the FA Cup and EFL Cup. So, the club are now looking to strengthen the squad even further this summer.

Manchester United have already explored several options in the market as they search for another attacking midfielder.

Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers remains one of their major targets. However, competition for the Europa League winner is expected to be intense. So, United are also assessing alternatives.

According to the Mirror, Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye has now been added to Manchester United’s shortlist ahead of a possible summer move.

The Senegal international has impressed Everton since joining the club from Marseille in 2024.

Across two Premier League seasons, Ndiaye has scored 15 league goals and established himself as one of the club’s most important players.

David Moyes reportedly views the 26-year-old as a key figure in his squad and wants him to stay at Everton. The Toffees also remain in a strong position because Ndiaye is under contract until 2029.

So, Everton are unlikely to entertain any offers unless they receive a massive fee well above the £15 million they paid for him.
