Manchester United had been chasing a midfielder all summer. However, with the transfer window getting over, they are now busy making plans for next summer.
Meanwhile, in January, United will be eyeing an Italian midfielder, Transfer News Live reported earlier. However, it will not be a permanent solution for Ruben Amorim.
The Portuguese boss wants to sign a player who can be his mainstay at the heart of the field for many years to come.
That is why Manchester United scouts have been busy looking for the right player. The Red Devils have bought some quality players this summer.
The likes of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko will have a positive impact on the team. However, after the first few games of the season, one thing is clear.
Manchester United had to get a midfielder, but they failed to sign one. Relying on Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte could be a recipe for disaster.
Meanwhile, because United failed to sign a midfielder, they did not sanction a move for a midfielder who wanted to leave the club for more game time.
But in 2026, Manchester United are ready to break the record and sign the player they wanted to sign this summer.
According to Fichajes, the Red Devils are preparing a historic £130 million offer for Carlos Baleba. This summer, Brighton and Hove Albion refused to sell the Cameroonian.
However, next summer, the story could be different. Brighton will be looking to sell the player as they have done on so many occasions.
Moises Caicedo, Alexis Mac Allister, Marc Cucurella, and Joao Pedro are some of the examples of how Brighton like to operate as a club.
So, if Manchester United place such a big amount on the table of the Seagulls, they will struggle to refuse.
But, United must act quickly as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also keeping a close eye on the situation of Carlos Baleba.
