After an incredibly disappointing 24/25 season, Manchester United were expected to have a big summer window.
The Red Devils quickly moved to bring in Premier League starts Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
They also brought in 18-year old Paraguayan prospect Diego Leon from Cerro Porteno.
You’d have thought that the above would not be the end of their summer business.
As per Turkish outlet Takvim, United are readying a bid for Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara.
The 26-year old Brazilian joined from Norwich City last summer, and had a fantastic debut season in Istanbul.
They report that the Turkish giants are expecting 40 million Euros for their midfield maestro.
With four years remaining on the midfielder’s contract, there is no pressure to sell for less than what they value him at.
It is clear that Ruben Amorim’s side are seriously lacking dynamism in the middle of the park.
Well, with Sara they would be getting a very energetic and athletic midfielder, with the legs to cover long distances.
Truth be told, United have had a long, predating Amorim issue when it comes to their midfield.
Any opposition with any sort of dynamism and speed in the middle manages to just overrun them.
With this potential signing, they would go some way to trying to combat that.
Sure, it might not be the sexiest name they will be linked to this summer.
But if anyone knows that a higher profile name does not mean a better signing – it is United.
