Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Paris Saint-Germain this summer just like the rest of Europe.

The French giants, despite dominating Ligue 1 and Europe, ended their season with a painful defeat against Chelsea in the Club World Cup final.

That game exposed some serious weaknesses in their defence. Chelsea ran riot in the defence of the Parisian.

Their manager, Luis Enrique, cannot afford that if he wants to defend his European crown.

The Spanish boss wants to create a stronger team for the next season.

For that, he needs to get rid of the players who are not performing well.

On the other hand, Manchester United had the worst season in the club’s illustrious history in the Premier League.

Finishing 15th in the Premier League table is not something Manchester United are used to.

That is why they are looking strengthen their defence.

The Red Devils cannot leak 54 goals this season like they did in the last one.

Signing a defender that is why, is a priority for Ruben Amorim.

Also, with Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans leaving the club, it becomes important to sign a defender.

With the injury record Manchester United have, it is important to have squad depth.

That is why, according to L’Equipe, Manchester United have set their sights on signing Lucas Beraldo from PSG.

Luis Enrique wasn’t particularly happy about the recent performance of Beraldo, especially in the Club World Cup final.

That is why the Spaniard will not oppose the sale.

For Lucas Beraldo, joining one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League who are rebuilding with a vision of a young manager, is something he might need to revive his career.

It will be interesting to see whether the Red Devils will make a concrete move for the 21-year-old in the coming days.
