Manchester United’s goalkeeping issues did not show any signs of improvement last weekend.

United have been linked with a goalkeeper all sunmer, after the struggles of André Onana ever since his arrival two summers ago.

Onana did not start against Arsenal last weekend, due to hamstring issues.

Altay Bayındır started in his place, but was largely at fault for the only goal of the game.

He was out strengthened during a Declan Rice corner, with a weak parry allowing Riccardo Calafiori to score.

United had a poor campaign in 2024/25, easily the worst of the 21st century.

A draw against one of the Premier League title favourites would have been a great way to start their campaign.

Now, they are at a point where if they drop points again today during their clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage, the pressure will ramp up on the team and manager Ruben Amorim.

Without any European fixtures this season, many are expecting them to rise up the table in comparison with their 15th place finish in 2024/25.

Onana is expected to be back in United’s starting lineup for today’s clash as he attempts to save his United career.

Even if he plays well today, it appears that United have found his potential replacement.

According to reports, Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens is expected to not be named in today’s starting lineup against Mechelen.

Ben Jacobs reported on Friday evening via Alex Crook that United were in advanced talks with Antwerp, with a £17 million fee under discussion.

With his absence from Antwerp’s starting lineup,  his future looks set to be in Manchester.
