Manchester United will be looking to sign midfielders this summer. They already know that they have to replace Casemiro. The Brazilian already announced that he will be leaving in June.
However, they might have to find a replacement for Manuel Ugarte, too. Also, if Burno Ferandes decides to leave, then they need another midfielder as well.
But the Portuguese might stay at the club next season as well, given the way he has performed since Michael Carrick took over the charge at Old Trafford.
Now, United will be looking for a holding midfielder. Last summer, the Red Devils were serious about signing Carlos Baleba. They also made an approach, which Brighton and Albion rebuffed immediately.
This summer, Manchester United have included other names as well in their list of targets. Currently, Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest has become their priority target.
Apart from him, they have Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace as well. Also, they are eyeing a move for Aston Villa’s Amadou Onana. Now, a La Liga midfielder has joined the list as well.
Still, the Red Devils will be targeting Carlos Baleba first next summer. Brighton were asking for more than £100 million last summer and in January.
But, according to TEAMtalk, it is expected that Brighton will soften their stance next summer. So, they will be happy sell him at a lower fee than £100 million.
His contract will expire in the summer of 2028. That is why the Seagulls will look to offload him because, since United showed interest in the Cameroonian, his performances have dropped.
So, they will look to offload him next summer to ensure they get maximum value for the player. Now, it is up to Manchester United to negotiate and lower his price as much as possible.
