Manchester United are now ready to suffer a huge transfer blow in the hands of Newcastle United.
Both Premier League clubs were eyeing a move for Benjamin Sesko. Initially, there were reports that the Slovenian would choose the Red Devils over the Magpies.
However, Newcastle stepped up their approach and placed the first bid of around €75 million with €5 million in add-ons. But RB Leipzig rejected that bid instantly.
The German club was expecting a bid from Manchester United and with that anticipation, they rejected Newcastle’s offer. Meanwhile, Seso was yet to make a decision.
Last night, Newcastle United pressed further and submitted a bid of around €80 million up front and €10 million in add-ons.
Now, most reliable sources are indicating that Leipzig would accept that offer. However, Manchester United are still in contention for this deal.
The Red Devils have made a firm stance which is if Sesko chooses them, then they will submit an offer and match what Newcastle are offering.
The Slovenian has not yet conveyed his decision of choosing one of the two clubs. But, the recent developments suggest that Sesko would be open to a move to Newcastle.
So, if Sesko joins Newcastle, Manchester United will once again fail to sign the striker they wanted to replace Rasmus Hojlund.
However, according to Tuttosport, Manchester United have been offered a chance to sign an alternative of Benjamin Sesko. However, the Red Devils have rejected the offer.
