Manchester United have set their sights on a Barcelona star. And this could eventually facilitate Marcus Rashford’s permanent move to Barcelona.

The Manchester United academy graduate moved to the Catalan giants on loan last summer after falling out with the former manager, Ruben Amorim.

Since then, he has improved his performance on the pitch, and Barcelona are happy with his progress. That is why Hansi Flick wants to sign him permanently.

In Rashford’s loan deal, there was a buyout clause of €30 million. Now, the Catalan club don’t want to trigger that. They want to negotiate and lower the price.

However, United are unwilling to do that because they believe Rashford’s value should be around €50 million minimum, as he has a contract with United until 2028.

Also, there are reports that United would like to have Rashford back because of his performance at Barcelona. Yet, the England international doesn’t want that.

So, both clubs are looking for a solution. Now, Manchester United could find a solution to this issue if Barcelona are ready to let one of their key players join the Red Devils.

And United have already identified the player they would like to sign from Barcelona. According to Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United have set their sights on Alejandro Balde.

The Red Devils will be happy have the left-back as he would be an upgrade from Tyrell Malacia and could push Luke Shaw for a place in the first team.

As per the report, Manchester United are ready to offer €40 million for the player. However, there is a caveat to this story.

Balde has a contract with Barcelona until 2028. And his a release clause of €1 billion. So, it will not be easy for the English giants to pursue a deal.

However, by offering Marcus Rashford in exchange, they could facilitate the move to sign Alejandro Balde at a very low cost.
