Manchester United are on a great run under Michael Carrick. The Red Devils have now won three games in a row.
Also, they defeated Fulham in their last game with a classic Manchester United Fergie-time winner. Now, they have a decision to make.
In the last couple of years, United’s performances have been inconsistent. They changed managers, but performance did not improve.
From Erik ten Hag to Ruben Amorim, the Red Devils failed to have a consistent run. Thus, they failed to become a serious title contender.
However, under Michael Carrick, there appears to be a new sense of excitement and confidence among the players. That is why United might be tempted to give him a permanent job.
However, the Red Devils decided to be cautious. Yet, behind the scenes, Michael Carrick has already started planning for next season in case he lands the permanent job.
And, the Manchester United legend has made a decision on the first move United should make in the summer transfer market.
United are looking sign midfielders. They are already tracking the likes of Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, and Adama Wharton.
But Carrick wants to strengthen the forward line. That is why he wants to recall Marcus Rashford from Barcelona, according to The Telegraph.
Last summer, Rashford left Manchester United on loan to Barcelona. Since then, his performance has impressed the Catalan giants.
So, they are exploring ways to keep the player permanently. However, Michael Carrick wants to bring Rashford back to United.
Under Carrick, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha are both flourishing. However, when they are not on the pitch, the drop-off in quality is staggering.
That is why Michael Carrick has decided that if he lands the permanent job at Manchester United, he will consider bringing Marcus Rashford back.
With Barcelona and PSG looking to sign Rashford permanently, it will be an interesting story follow next summer.
