Newcastle United have continued their major summer rebuild by moving to add another attacker before the transfer deadline.
The Magpies have already reshaped their squad significantly following the departures of Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon.
Newcastle responded by bringing in several new players, including Nico Gonzalez, Bazoumana Toure, Amar Dedic and Aladji Bamba.
Lukas Hornicek has also arrived as part of the club’s efforts to strengthen their goalkeeping options.
Matthias Jaissle has been looking for another versatile forward, with Newcastle working on several attacking possibilities.
Their search has now produced a breakthrough after negotiations with Lille progressed towards an agreement.
According to David Ornstein, Newcastle United have agreed a deal to sign Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille.
The agreement is worth €60 million plus add-ons, with the transfer now being finalised between the clubs.
Personal terms on a five-year contract are not expected to create any problems for the 21-year-old attacker. Fernandez-Pardo is also could travel for a medical before the transfer deadline.
The Belgian can operate across the front line and was an important player for Lille during the 2025–26 campaign.
He started 27 of their 34 Ligue 1 matches last season and scored eight goals as Lille finished third.
That result secured Champions League qualification, with Fernandez-Pardo playing a significant role during the campaign.
He has yet to feature this season after missing the opening game against Angers through suspension.
Fernandez-Pardo has also won five senior caps for Belgium and made three appearances at the 2026 World Cup.
Newcastle have already collected four points from their opening two Premier League matches under Jaissle.
They drew 2-2 with Liverpool before securing a 2-0 away victory against Tottenham Hotspur.
Fernandez-Pardo will now become the latest addition to Newcastle’s extensively rebuilt squad.
