The Alexander Isak to Liverpool transfer saga could be nearing the finish line. Newcastle United have signed a new striker. Nick Woltemade will join the club as the new striker.

As soon as the news broke, Liverpool started preparing for a massive bid for Alexander Isak. However, there is still another step that Newcastle need to complete.

At the beginning of the transfer window this summer, Newcastle were already looking for a striker. During that period, Newcastle were not ready to sell Isak.

In fact, they are not ready even now to sell Isak. But the desperate measures the Swedish international is taking have prompted Newcastle to think about life without him.

They wanted to sign a prolific striker who could partner Isak and reduce his workload. However, as Isak wants to leave, the Magpies now have to sign two strikers.

Newcastle have already got one striker in as Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart, in a club-record deal. Now, they just need to sign another striker, and after that, they will be ready to sell Isak.

Eddie Howe already knows the player he wants to sign as the other striker. Newcastle have already submitted bids for the striker, and all of their bids have been rejected.

Now, according to Ben Jacobs, Newcastle have not yet given up on signing Yoane Wissa. The striker had interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Neom SC from Saudi Arabia.

But Wissa only wants to join Newcastle. If the Magpies can sign Wissa in the last few days of the transfer window, then they will be open to letting Isak join Liverpool.
