N’Golo Kante is set to return to European football. A European club have reached an agreement with Al-Ittihad to sign the French international midfielder.

The 34-year-old had been under contract with the Saudi Pro League side until the summer of 2026, but his situation had placed several European clubs on alert.

The Turkish giants identified Kante as a priority target and wasted little time in agreeing personal terms with the midfielder.

A return to Europe was a key objective for Kante. He wanted to make it to Didier Deschamps’ France squad for the World Cup next summer.

He believes regular football at a higher competitive level will strengthen his chances. That is why Kante was pushing for this deal, and now it has been finalised.

L’Equipe reports that Al-Ittihad and Fenerbahce reached an agreement on Sunday, valuing Kante’s remaining contract at around €4 million.

As part of the deal, Fenerbahce striker Youssef En-Nesyri will move in the opposite direction and join the Saudi club.

For Kante, this move represents a significant opportunity. After leaving Chelsea for Saudi Arabia, the midfielder continued to show his trademark intensity and discipline.

But the pull of European football was hard to resist for Kante. The former World Cup winner remains highly motivated and sees this move as an opportunity to compete again at the highest level.

Kante will now sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with Fenerbahce. His arrival is a major boost for the Turkish side, both on and off the pitch.
