Nottingham Forest look like they have already given up on Elliot Anderson. They have now realised that the midfielder will leave the club next summer, with both Manchester clubs leading the race.
Forest signed Anderson in 2024 for £35 million from Newcastle United. The Magpies knew his potential. However, to meet PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) requirements, they had to sell him.
This season, Elliot Anderson is performing at an elite level. He has won more possession than any other player in the Premier League.
Also, his pass completion rate is 88%, which is amazing, and he has won over 340 ground duels so far this season. That is why both Manchester City and Manchester United are eyeing a move for him.
The Citizens know that there is a chance that Rodri might leave next summer, with Real Madrid showing strong interest. So, they want Anderson to be Rodri’s successor.
As for Manchester United, Casemiro has already announced that he will leave the club next summer. Also, there is a high chance that Manuel Ugarte could leave the club due to his lack of game time.
So, with interest gathering around Anderson from Premier League giants, Nottingham Forest have now set a clear asking price for the midfielder.
According to Florian Plettenberg, both Manchester clubs will have to pay around £100-120 million to sign Elliot Anderson.
Manchester City are reportedly leading the race to sign the midfielder. However, United’s qualification in the Champions League could change the scenario, as they will have a bigger budget to spend.
🚨⚠️ Forest expect Elliot #Anderson to join either Manchester United or Manchester City if he leaves this summer.
