Real Madrid are preparing for the 2025/26 campaign under Xabi Alonso. After failing to win the Club World Cup, club president Florentino Perez wants to back the new manager fully.
One of the main areas that Xabi Alonso has identified that needs reinforcement is the defence.
Antonio Rudiger and Raul Asencio are the culprits for at least two goals in that Club World Cup semi-final game against PSG.
Also, last season, against Barcelona, Real Madrid struggled defensively. In fact, in the Champions League quarterfinal game against Arsenal, Madrid leaked goals.
That is why they need reinforcements big time. They have already brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen. But Alonso wants more.
Real Madrid are already in talks with Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool. However, the Reds are doing everything they can to make him sign a new contract.
If they fail, Real Madrid can sign him next year for free, the same thing they did with Trent Alexander-Arnold.
But that is for next year. What about this season? Xabi Alonso is not ready to wait. That is why Real Madrid is not ready to wait for next year.
They are targeting an Arsenal defender who has been fantastic since he joined the club.
According to Fichajes, Real Madrid are preparing a massive offer for Arsenal to sign William Saliba.
The Los Blancos are preparing an offer that is hard to forget. They are prepared to pay €90 million in cash.
Apart from that, they are ready to offer Raul Asencio, who can be a replacement for Saliba. However, if Asencio is not enough, Madrid are ready to give Arda Guler as well.
William Saliba’s contract with Arsenal expires in 2027. The Gunners are progressing well in their quest to renew his contract.
However, such an offer from Real Madrid will make Arsenal reconsider their stance at least once.
