Barcelona have clear transfer strategy and they know exactly who they want next.

The club has been watching the market closely, especially after sorting out some of their financial matters.

With Hansi Flick, the goal is clear, add more quality up front.

And the name of Marcus Rashford keeps coming back into the conversation.

The Manchester United forward is admired within the Barcelona boardroom.

His pace, creativity, and ability to score from wide positions make him a dream fit in Flick’s system.

There have been quiet talks already. Rashford’s camp has made contact.

And the player has shown strong interest in joining.

After winning all the domestic trophies last season but failing in the European circuit, Barcelona want to add depth to their squad.

They already have the likes of Lamine Yamal and Raphinia. But Flick wants direct players, ones who break lines and make defenders nervous.

But despite all the buzz, nothing has moved forward. And fans are left wondering: what is the hold-up?

According to SPORT, the answer lies in two major obstacles, Marcus Rashford’s salary and Manchester United’s transfer demands.

The English winger currently earns close to €19 million net per season, a figure that Barcelona simply cannot reach.

Even though he is open to a pay cut, it still would not be enough.

On top of that, United are asking for around £40 million (€48 million) to let him go.

That fee, combined with his wages, creates a deal that is out of Barcelona’s reach, unless United reduce their asking price for the forward.

So, until all three sides, Rashford, United, and Barca can find a middle ground, this transfer will remain stuck.

The player wants the move. The club wants the player. But money, once again, is the wall in the way.
