After missing out on signing Eberechi Eze, Tottenham Hotspur are doing everything they can to find an alternative.

However, situations have not been very kind for the Spurs in the transfer market. They have tried to sign multiple players. But many of those players rejected them.

Meanwhile, on the pitch, the Spurs have been fantastic. They have won both their opening games of the new Premier League season under Thomas Frank.

The Danish manager even beat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the Etihad by 2-0. And that victory was a statement from the Spurs.

To keep that momentum going, the Spurs decided to test their luck by placing a bid for Nico Paz from Como.

However, the Italian side rejected the bid. The amount the Spurs were ready to pay was €70 million, which is a massive amount for a 20-year-old playing in the Serie A.

The Argentine international scored 7 goals and provided 10 assists for Como. Now, Fabrizio Romano has revealed why Como rejected the massive bid from Tottenham Hotspur.

According to the Italian journalist, Real Madrid are the main reason why Como rejected the bid. Nico Paz is a product of the Real Madrid academy.

The Spanish club is very happy with the progress made by the Argentine international. That is why they are looking to resign him next year.

Real Madrid inserted a buyback clause of €10 million while selling Nico Paz to Como in 2024. However, Madrid will compensate Como properly.

That is why the Italian club rejected the bid from Tottenham as they didn’t want to offend the Spanish giants. Now, the Spurs will look at other targets.
