Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal with Crystal Palace to sign Eberechi Eze, according to Ben Jacobs. However, the deal is not done yet.

This is a unique situation that rarely arises in the transfer market. After a player agrees on personal terms with the club that wants him, the next step is to agree on a fee with the current club.

Once the fee is agreed, the transfer is considered as a done deal and the signing becomes official after the medical tests and contract signing.

However, this Eberechi Eze to Tottenham Hotspur transfer is taking new twists and turns. And, this is not something new for the Spurs this summer.

The same situation came up for the Morgan Gibbs-White to Tottenham Hotspur deal. The Spurs triggered his release clause, and the deal was almost done.

However, Nottingham Forest opposed the move and threatened to take Tottenham to court. Now, the matter is over as Gibbs-White signed a new contract.

But with this Eberechi Eze deal, things are a bit different. As Ben Jacobs reported, Palace and Tottenham have agreed on a fee for the transfer.

However, Crystal Palace is blocking this deal right now as they look for an alternative of the player. Bilal El Khannouss of Leicester City is the main target for Palace to replace Eze.

The English international even featured for Palace in their opening Premier League game against Chelsea that ended in a goal less draw.

Currently, Eberechi Eze is training with the Crystal Palace first team, and once Palace find the ideal replacement for Eze, the deal will be done as they have agreed on a fee with Tottenham Hotspur.
