After beating Liverpool at Anfield, Manchester United will feel that their season is back on track. However, their manager, Ruben Amorim, knows that the performance was far from perfect.

Manchester United were once again dominated in the midfield. And, the failure to sign a midfielder is now haunting the Red Devils. That is why Amorim doesn’t want to repeat the same mistake.

At any cost, the Portuguese boss is demanding a midfielder from the board. The Red Devils understand that signing a midfielder in January will not be easy.

Most clubs are reluctant to do deals for their top players mid-season. However, United did sign Bruno Fernandes in January 2020. So, Amorim is looking for a similar deal.

The Manchester United manager is looking for a player who can be a leader in the midfield, just like Bruno Fernandes. And, United might have found the perfect player for Ruben Amorim.

According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United are now eyeing a move for Sporting CP captain, Morten Hjulmand. The Portuguese champions want around £50 million for their midfielder.

The Red Devils are ready to pay that. Also, both Amorim and Fernandes have a connection with the Portuguese club. So, they might try to use their connection to get the price down.

United are also looking at Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton as their midfield solution. But if they try, signing Hjulmand should not be a problem for them.
