This would be one big statement

Last week, in his native South Korea, Heung-Min Son announced his ten year stay at Spurs was coming to an end.

It is going to be very weird seeing a Spurs side without Son on the left hand side – especially with former partner in crime Harry Kane no longer around.

Whilst he was playing less and less in recent times, he is not the player you let leave without a replacement.

We can probably expect to see the North Londoners sign a left-winger this summer window.

The Lilywhites have been linked with a move to Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, but that deal feels like a tough ask.

So, there should be a plan B in mind. Well, it seems like they may have that up their sleeves.

According to TeamTalk, Spurs are interested in signing Ademola Lookman of Serie A side Atalanta.

The 27-year old handed in a transfer request last weekend, and looks sure to leave Bergamo this summer.

Given their are some big clubs interested in his signature, any potential deal would be difficult.

That said, given the financial discrepancy between the Premier League and other leagues, it is not impossible.

We could see Spurs gazump clubs on the continent when it comes to a transfer fee.

In that scenario, Lookman’s preferred destination may be irrelevant.

Despite playing for Nigeria, the forward was born and raised in London.

Moving back to the city he grew up in could be an attractive proposition.

Furthermore, Spurs now have Champions League football to offer, after winning the Europa League final.

Ironically enough, the same final Atalanta won 12 months earlier thanks to Lookman’s hat-trick.

That was enough to get him a Ballon D’or nomination, whilst winning African player of the year.

Whilst the Atalanta man did not have the best of times in England before, he is clearly a much better player now.

This would be an incredible signing for Spurs, if they were to get it done.
