Antony joined Manchester United in 2022 from Ajax for a fee of £82 million.
A lot was expected of the Brazilian and a debut goal against Arsenal raised these hopes.
However, what unfolded has been an extremely underwhelming spell with the club.
Across all competitions, Antony has made 96 appearances for the club. He has recorded just 12 goal and five assists.
Since April 16th 2023, he has just one Premier League goal to his name and played 135 total league minutes this season before being shipped out on loan to La Liga side Real Betis.
During his time in Spain, he has revived his career.
In 26 total games for Betis, he has scored nine goals with five assists.
Betis secured a return to European Football in 2024/25, after a sixth place finish in La Liga. They also reached a Europa League final
Whilst they led 1-0 at halftime, they were ultimately defeated 4-1 by Chelsea in the final.
Antony was a key reason they got there.
He scored in Betis’ 4-0 second leg win over Portuguese side Vitória de Guimarães in the round of 16 leg, after a 2-2 draw in the first.
Antony also scored in both semi-final legs and assisted in extra-time as they beat Italian side Fiorentina 4-3 on aggregate.
He was also nominated for the La Liga Player of the Month award in February after just one month with Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
Despite a resurgence in Spain, a future in Manchester seems unlikely.
Surprise Serie A contender for Antony emerges
It has been reported that Serie A side Como are interesting in Antony’s services.
Managed by former Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fàbregas, they finished ninth in Serie A in 2024/25 after a 21-year absence from Italy’s top flight.
They now appear to have earmarked Antony as a transfer target, even if his first choice would be a return to Los Verdiblancos.
