Tottenham Hotspur are still looking to strengthen their attack after a huge summer rebuild under Roberto De Zerbi.
Spurs narrowly survived relegation last season after a chaotic campaign that featured three different head coaches.
De Zerbi eventually steadied the side and helped them preserve their Premier League status on the final day.
That experience triggered major changes in North London. Tottenham Hotspur have since spent heavily to reshape the squad before the new campaign.
Sandro Tonali arrived from Newcastle United in a deal worth up to £100 million. Mateus Fernandes followed from West Ham for £85 million, while Jan Paul van Hecke strengthened the defence.
Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka also arrived on free transfers. Meanwhile, Luka Vuskovic joined Brighton, and further senior departures could still follow.
Tottenham now want another forward, particularly with uncertainty surrounding Dominic Solanke and Richarlison.
According to Football Insider, Spurs are considering a move for former Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun.
The 25-year-old is open to leaving Monaco following an impressive World Cup with the United States. He scored three goals in four appearances during the tournament.
Balogun’s representatives have approached Tottenham through intermediaries to explore a potential Premier League return.
The striker developed through Arsenal‘s academy but struggled to establish himself in their senior team. He scored twice in 10 appearances before eventually joining Monaco in 2023.
Balogun has since registered 31 goals across 91 appearances for the Ligue 1 club. However, Tottenham have not yet made a formal move, and De Zerbi is considering several attacking options.
Cody Gakpo also remains on Spurs’ radar, although Liverpool reportedly value the Netherlands international at around £70 million.
Tottenham’s pre-season results have offered encouragement. They defeated MK Dons, Auckland FC and Chelsea, while also beating Sydney FC on penalties after a draw.
Their latest outing ended 1-1 against Getafe at Hotspur Way, with Conor Gallagher scoring the equaliser.
De Zerbi’s side will now complete their preparations before beginning their Premier League campaign against Brentford.
