Manchester United set to receive transfer blow as Everton set huge asking price for target

Everton reportedly based that valuation on Anthony Gordon’s recent £70 million move from Newcastle United to Barcelona.

Manchester United are preparing for a huge summer rebuild after successfully securing a return to the Champions League under Michael Carrick.

The former midfielder impressed during his spell as interim manager. He eventually earned the role on a permanent basis after guiding the club back into Europe’s biggest competition.

Now, Manchester United will look to strengthen several areas of the squad before the new season begins.

Midfield remains one of the biggest priorities for the club this summer. Atalanta midfielder Ederson is heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford.

However, United are also actively searching for attacking reinforcements as they prepare to compete across multiple competitions next season.

That is why Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye has emerged as one of the players under serious consideration this summer.

The Senegal international impressed for Everton last season after producing several important performances under David Moyes.

Although Ndiaye featured mainly on the right wing, he also played multiple games on the left side and contributed six goals alongside three assists during the campaign.

According to The Athletic, Everton are now preparing to place a massive valuation on Ndiaye in an attempt to discourage potential buyers.

The report claims the Merseyside club would demand around £69 million before even considering a sale this summer.

Everton reportedly based that valuation on Anthony Gordon’s recent £70 million move from Newcastle United to Barcelona.

The Toffees remain desperate to keep Ndiaye despite growing uncertainty around his contract situation.

Liverpool are also reportedly interested in the 26-year-old as they continue searching for a new left-sided attacker following Mohamed Salah’s departure from Anfield.

Ndiaye originally joined Everton from Marseille in 2024 for only £15 million. Since then, he has developed into one of the club’s most important attacking players.
