Arsenal have received fresh encouragement in their pursuit of Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

The Gunners have made the Brazilian one of their main midfield targets as they continue strengthening Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Bruno Guimaraes has also been heavily linked with a move away from St James’ Park following Newcastle’s difficult 2025–26 campaign.

The Magpies finished 12th in the Premier League and missed out on European football. Meanwhile, Guimaraes enjoyed a strong individual season before impressing for Brazil at the 2026 World Cup.

Arsenal have already tested Newcastle’s position through previous approaches, although no formal club-to-club offer has yet been submitted.

According to Ben Jacobs, Arsenal are now preparing another bid and are expected to increase their offer beyond £70M.

Their previous proposal, presented through intermediaries, reportedly reached as high as £65M. Moreover, broad personal terms are already understood to be in place with Guimaraes.

The biggest boost, however, comes from Newcastle’s changing position over a potential sale.

According to CaughtOffside, Newcastle recognise that Guimaraes wants to leave and will not stand in his way if Arsenal meet their asking price.

Newcastle have also increased their interest in Hugo Larsson as they consider possible midfield replacements.

That development could further strengthen Arsenal’s hopes of completing a deal before the transfer window closes.

So, the Gunners are will return with another proposal as they attempt to secure one of their key midfield targets.

For now, no agreement has been reached, but Newcastle’s softer stance has given Arsenal a major boost in their pursuit of Guimaraes.
