Arsenal join Liverpool in race for Bournemouth star

Arsenal head into the new season determined to build on their Premier League title-winning campaign.

Mikel Arteta’s side have already strengthened the squad with the arrivals of Christos Tzolis, Illan Meslier and Piero Hincapie.

The Gunners also continue working on a deal for Bruno Guimaraes while monitoring other opportunities in the transfer market.

Liverpool are also pushing ahead with their summer rebuild under Andoni Iraola. The Reds have signed Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz following last season’s fifth-place finish.

They remain focused on adding more attacking quality, with Bradley Barcola their priority target after Mohamed Salah’s departure.

However, another Premier League winger has now attracted interest from both clubs.

According to The Sun, Arsenal have joined Liverpool in the race to sign Bournemouth winger Rayan.

The report claims Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also tracking the 19-year-old after his impressive start to life in English football.

Arsenal are considering a move but may first need to resolve the futures of Gabriel Martinelli and Reiss Nelson. Liverpool have already shown strong interest in the Brazilian.

The report adds that Iraola views Rayan as a natural fit for his attacking system after working with him at Bournemouth.

However, Bradley Barcola remains Liverpool’s first-choice target, meaning any move for Rayan could depend on developments elsewhere. Bournemouth remain reluctant to sell their young star.

The Cherries are under no pressure to cash in, especially after Eli Junior Kroupi suffered a long-term injury.

Even so, the club reportedly accept that an offer worth around £85M would represent exceptional value. Rayan is also expected to weigh up his next move carefully.

The teenager reportedly wants regular first-team football if he leaves Bournemouth, with several of Europe’s biggest clubs now monitoring his situation ahead of the new season.
