Real Madrid set Vinicius Junior transfer price as Arsenal ready to smash Premier League record

Vinicius Junior to Arsenal will become a new Premier League transfer record.

Arsenal remain active in the transfer market despite already strengthening Mikel Arteta’s squad this summer.

The Premier League champions continue searching for another marquee signing as they prepare to defend their league title and challenge for the Champions League.

The Gunners have already moved closer to completing the signing of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United.

However, they also continue exploring an ambitious deal for one of world football’s biggest stars.

According to The Sun, Arsenal are prepared to break the Premier League transfer record to sign Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid.

The report claims the Spanish giants would expect a bid of around £128 million (€150 million) before allowing the Brazilian to leave.

Vinicius has entered the final year of his Real Madrid contract and currently earns around £15 million per year.

The 26-year-old wants a new deal worth more than £25 million annually after several successful seasons in Spain.

The report adds that Real Madrid recently offered Vinicius a contract worth around £19 million per year.

However, the club will not improve that proposal, leaving a significant gap between both parties.

If no agreement is reached, Arsenal are ready to test Real Madrid’s resolve.

The proposed fee would surpass the £125 million Liverpool paid Newcastle United for Alexander Isak and become a new Premier League transfer record.

Arsenal would also need to rewrite their wage structure. The North London club are willing to make Vinicius the highest-paid player in Premier League history.

His salary would reportedly exceed both Bukayo Saka’s £350,000-per-week deal and Erling Haaland’s reported £525,000-per-week package.

Meanwhile, Arsenal continue working on Bruno Guimaraes‘ arrival alongside their pursuit of Vinicius.

David Ornstein already reported that an agreement worth around £75 million is close. Meanwhile, the Brazilian has already agreed a five-year deal.
