Arsenal could make another major addition by signing Victor Osimhen as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his attacking options.
The Gunners have already invested heavily this summer after winning the Premier League title last season.
However, they remain interested in adding a proven goalscorer before the transfer window closes.
Arsenal have focused much of their attention on Julian Alvarez. However, Atletico Madrid value the striker at more than £100 million, which has made a deal difficult.
That asking price has encouraged Arsenal to consider other options as they prepare for a busy end to the window.
According to The Telegraph, Arsenal and Galatasaray have discussed a possible move for Victor Osimhen during talks involving Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri.
Galatasaray have submitted a £38.4 million offer for Martinelli. The Turkish club have also expressed interest in Nwaneri, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Marseille.
Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has held wide-ranging discussions with Galatasaray over the potential deals.
Those conversations also included the possibility of Osimhen moving to the Emirates Stadium.
However, The Telegraph could not establish which club first raised the striker’s name during the negotiations.
Arsenal have admired Osimhen for some time, although they previously placed Alvarez above him on their list of striker targets.
Atletico’s valuation could now force Arsenal to change direction. The Gunners have already considered switching targets because of the financial demands surrounding Alvarez.
Osimhen has scored 59 goals in 74 appearances for Galatasaray since joining the Turkish club from Napoli.
Tottenham Hotspur have also shown interest in the 27-year-old as they search for attacking reinforcements.
Arsenal have not yet decided whether to make a formal move for Osimhen. It also remains unclear whether any potential deal would connect with Galatasaray’s pursuit of Martinelli or Nwaneri.
