Leeds United have enjoyed an encouraging summer as Daniel Farke prepares his squad for another Premier League campaign.
The Whites produced several strong pre-season performances, including victories over Liverpool, RB Leipzig and FC Augsburg.
Their 4-0 win against Augsburg at Elland Road provided another boost before competitive football returned.
Leeds have also invested heavily in strengthening several important areas of Farke’s squad during the summer window.
James Trafford arrived from Manchester City in a club-record deal worth up to £45 million.
The defensive unit also received major reinforcements through Tarik Muharemovic and Nico Elvedi, while Harry Wilson joined for free.
However, Leeds are still searching for further attacking quality before the transfer window reaches its conclusion.
The club are already pursuing a loan move for Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk as they assess several late opportunities.
Farke has shown a willingness to target ambitious names, with Leeds prepared to monitor situations involving established European stars.
According to Football Insider, Leeds United remain interested in signing AC Milan forward Rafael Leao before the transfer window closes.
The Portugal international could leave Milan this summer, with the Italian club open to considering offers for him.
However, Leeds face significant obstacles because Leao’s financial demands could make any potential agreement difficult to complete.
The Whites also face competition from several clubs across Europe as the 27-year-old considers his future.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal have previously shown interest, while Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are also monitoring his situation.
Leao has not yet agreed a move elsewhere, leaving Leeds with an opportunity if other interested clubs fail to progress negotiations.
However, any transfer would still depend heavily on Leeds finding a financially viable agreement with both Milan and Leao.
For now, Leeds remain in the race as Farke continues exploring ambitious options before the summer transfer deadline.
