Liverpool are having a great summer transfer window. The signing of Florian Wirtz surprised everyone as Liverpool are generally not a heavy spender.
And, spending £100m plus £16m on add-ons for Wirtz was a statement.
After the headline business of Wirtz, Arne Slot decided to strengthen his full-backs.
As Trent Alexander-Arnold left for Real Madrid, he signed Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen.
He also brought in Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth to give major competition to Andy Robertson and potentially take his spot in the next season.
However, among all these transfer activities, Luis Diaz has made his feelings clear.
The Colombian doesn’t want to stay at Liverpool next season.
He wants a fresh challenge and has already accepted personal terms with Bayern Munich.
However, Barcelona have shown interest in him too. But their interest cooled after the news broke about Diaz agreeing terms with Bayern.
So, the Blaugrana are now looking at Marcus Rashford of Manchester United as the potential target.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are having a tough time agreeing on a fee with Liverpool for Luis Diaz.
The Premier League champions have now rejected £58.6m opening bid from the Bundesliga champions.
According to the BBC, Liverpool want £87m for the transfer of Luis Diaz.
That is a staggering amount of money for a player whose contract will expire in 2027.
Liverpool want to renew his contract, and they are pushing Diaz as Arne Slot sees him as a key player in his lineup.
However, Luis Diaz is not ready to sign the contract as he wants to play elsewhere.
With that steep asking price from Liverpool, one thing is for sure: Barcelona will not be signing him.
Also, Bayern Munich will have a tough time signing the Colombian.
So, this Luis Diaz transfer saga is getting interesting as the player wants to leave, but Liverpool are trying to hang on and convince him to sign a new contract.
