Manchester United’s striker search is heating up. As Fabrizio Romano revealed, after securing the signing of Bryan Mbeumo, their next goal will be to sign a striker.
Ruben Amorim knows his side needs more firepower if they want to climb back into the Premier League’s top four.
Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have not quite delivered, and the club has made finding a new centre-forward a priority this summer.
Over at Anfield, Liverpool are making moves too. Arne Slot is not fully convinced by Darwin Nunez.
The Reds explored a big-money transfer for Alexander Isak, but Newcastle shut that door quickly; even £120 million was not enough.
So, Liverpool have now turned to Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are going all in for Viktor Gyokeres.
Mikel Arteta believes the Sporting CP striker is the missing piece in their title push.
With both Liverpool and Arsenal looking elsewhere, United have gained a massive advantage.
Now, according to GiveMeSport, Manchester United have become the preferred destination for Benjamin Sesko.
Sesko had been on several shortlists earlier in the window. Liverpool were offered the chance. Arsenal showed interest at the start but decided to go for Gyokeres.
Chelsea and Newcastle had contact too. But none of them have made serious moves.
The 22-year-old Slovenian, currently at RB Leipzig, wants to join United this summer.
Even without European football next season, he is open to the transfer.
Last season Benjamin Sesko scored 21 goals in 45 appearances for RB Leipzig.
While other clubs stepped back, Manchester United stepped forward. Now, they might finally land the striker they have been searching for.
However, the key to signing Sesko will be the outgoings as United need to sell Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho first.
