Manchester United are working on several deals at the moment. However, the fate of these deals will mostly depend on the outgoings.
The Red Devils were hoping for a number of offers from top European clubs after Ruben Amorim exposed his bomb squad and put it up for sale.
Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, and Antony were a part of this bomb squad, who did not travel with Amorim’s team for their preseason tour in the USA.
However, apart from Rashford, who joined Barcelona on loan with an option to buy deal, none of the players have left the club.
This is creating a massive problem for Manchester United, who are looking to back Amorim by signing the players he wants.
The Red Devils have already signed Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko as their three major signings.
Now, Amorim is looking to sign a defensive midfielder. Also, he is looking to replace Andre Onana and get a new No.1 keeper, as Altay Bayindir failed to impress him as well.
Onana wants to stay and prove Amorim wrong. That is why it looks like he would stay at the club this season and guard United’s goal.
The same could be the fate for their No.1 target to replace Onana in the first place. Yes, according to MARCA, Emiliano Martinez is set to stay at Aston Villa this season.
The World Cup Golden Gloves winner has a contract with the Villans that will run until 2029. So, Aston Villa are under no pressure to sell the Argentine.
Also, Unai Emery would love to keep his No.1 goalkeeper. Manchester United were showing interest in him.
But, they were looking for a loan deal as they were struggling to sell Onana, who wanted to stay at the club.
Now, it looks like Emiliano Martinez will be standing in between the sticks at Villa Park this season for Aston Villa, as he is set to stay.
