Behind the scenes at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal have been focused on finding the ideal midfield reinforcement. Now, that search appears to be over.

The North London side had their sights locked on a very specific profile. A player with control, composure, and tactical discipline at the heart of midfield.

Someone who could bring calm to chaos, and balance to a side that narrowly missed out on the Premier League title. That search is finally paying off.

The Gunners are on the verge of completing a deal for a player they have been pursuing for months.

After long-term interest and multiple internal discussions, the final steps are now underway.

According to a report from the BBC, Arsenal are set to welcome Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

All contractual documents between the two clubs have already been signed, and the move is now subject only to a medical, something the club is in the process of scheduling.

There is no panic over the timing, though. The agreement is done, the payment structure agreed, and the release clause, reportedly worth £51 million, covered in full. Zubimendi’s arrival is a matter of ‘when’, not ‘if’.

The 26-year-old Spanish international has been a standout performer in La Liga and was one of Mikel Arteta’s top targets heading into the summer.

His positional intelligence, ball retention and ability to dictate tempo from deep midfield align perfectly with Arsenal’s vision for their next phase.

With Zubimendi’s signing imminent, the Gunners will now turn their attention to bolstering their attack.

Arsenal are closing in on signing Viktor Gyokeres. Benjamin Sesko remains high on the shortlist of attackers.

Also, the internal negotiations continue over contract renewals for key squad members. The rebuild at the Emirates is very much in motion and it begins with Zubimendi.
