Como prepare January swoop for struggling Manchester United forward

A transfer could benefit both sides.

Cesc Fabregas, Ruben Amorim

Manchester United are struggling to score goals this season despite signing the likes of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko.

Also, they have let Rasmus Hojlund leave for Napoli. Furthermore, there was another player who was tipped to leave this summer.

But the market closed with him still in Manchester. Also, Ruben Amorim wanted him to stay and prove his worth as a Manchester United player.

So far, he has only played 82 minutes of football this season. Also, in the Premier League, he has featured for just 74 minutes.

After that, it is clear that chances will be limited. The forward has only come off the bench against Burnley, Manchester City, and Brentford.

Therefore, breaking into the starting eleven looks unlikely for Joshua Zirkzee. Benjamin Sesko leads the line, while several names sit ahead in the number ten role.

Meanwhile, Zirkzee’s overall contribution has not been convincing. Since joining in 2024, the Dutch international has managed just seven goals and three assists in 53 games.

Also, Manchester United’s reduced fixture list makes things worse. The club is out of the EFL Cup after losing to Grimsby Town.

So, until January, the Red Devils will only play in the Premier League. That means limited opportunities for squad players.

The Dutchman has not been able to adapt to the pace and demands of the Premier League.

According to Corriere Como, Serie A side Como are preparing a January move. Scouts believe his style suits Italian football better.

Zirkzee still holds value in Serie A. However, he needs regular minutes to rebuild confidence.

Also, Como present a unique project. Therefore, a transfer could benefit both sides. But with January approaching, his future may finally be in Italy.
